Day 3
7am alarm sounds after muchas cervezas anoche - it was pretty tough to wake up. We closed the bar and stayed up late playing Celebrity, Umbrella and Happy Family. Did I mention the free chupitos from the bartender?
We went to class for four hours. MK, Kaiti, Kim and Susan's class were kicked out for being too loud because our (Liz and my) profesora couldn't concentrate with all the giggling going on between the girls and Vladamir. After class we took the bus up to Manuel Antonio. Manuel Antonio is incredible!! It's the epitome of what we pictured Costa Rica to be.

Manuel Antonio |
Palm trees, black sand beaches, hot surfers, dreadlocked men and women, beach vendors selling everything from pulseras de amistad to snow cones to a dude with a machete that cuts up a coconut, hands you a straw and tells you to "bebe y disfruta!" We had lunch at "las gemelas" where we could watch the ocean waves on the beaches of Manuel Antonio. Kim and MK split a fish. Legit. A fish - head and tail still on.
We had no where to change into our traje de banos, so we asked our amigo if we could change in the back of the restaurant. MK, Susan and I went in the back and held up a towel while one another changed. While Susan was changing, un hombre came and tried to use the bathroom…"Nosotras nos estamos cambiando la ropa.,.espera momentito." The ladies in the kitchen started laughing and handed the man an empty bottle and said to pee in it..awkward! So we're off to the beach when something catches our eyes -- PULSERAS DE AMISTAD!!! (friendship bracelets)
Finally, we plop on the beach!! Today was the first day that it didn't rain..ok, well it rained but it rained when we were in school so it doesn't count. While we were lounging on the beach, an old tic and his son push their snow cone cart through the sand and decide a good place to park it would be 3 feet to the left of us. He starts screaming "snow cone, amigos" about every 30 seconds to the passerbys…obnoxious. While he is not shouting about his ice, he is staring at us so obviously it is embarrassing. Hey dad - this is what you're missing in the OBX.
3 horas despues, we grab a 6-pack, some rum and mango juice from the store and head to the bus stop. On the bus ride home, all of the sudden the bus comes to the screeching halt. A lady is standing in front of the bus and won't let us leave. Apparently, some prostitutas from San Jose stole something, got into a fight, tried to flee but it didn't work…aka we were stuck on the sweaty bus with crazy ticos trying to figure out what was happening. The policia finally came and took those crazy bitches away. Sweet success! When we got back from the beach, we poured the rum, hopped in our pool and are currently presuming for our evening at Bambu Jam. It's a local bar that has live music and latin dancing until the wee hours of the morning. Woot!
Alright, I know everyone's friends and family are reading this…so it's time to start making comentarios (comments), friends!!
